The Foundation For Excellence

Society is changing.
Accordingly the needs of society also change. Everybody has to modify by
himself to meet the requirements of the changed world. In order to befit the new scenario we have
to inculcate a growth mindset instead of a fixed mindset. We have to be inspired and motivated by
ourselves to accomplish greater goals in the 21st century world.
“If not a daring adventure life is nothing”- Helen
Keller said once. She was deaf and
blind. Still she became one of the two
most influential personalities of America at her time. She travelled 40,000 miles all over the
world. In psychology, there is a
concept, what do you think and what do you say, that is what you are. That means, as is your thoughts, so is your
life. Despite the faculty of hearing and seeing, Helen
Keller became extremely successful in proving this psychological principle.
Edmond Hillary became king of the
world when he conquered Mount Everest in 1953. He said by conquering mountains
we are conquering ourselves. For a
successful landing on Mount Everest he had made three risky attempts, one in
1951 and others in the next two consecutive years. In spite of having criticisms and deceptive
brain messages from his relatives and friends to give up the ‘impossible’
endeavor, he showed determination and will power to fulfil his awe inspiring
mission. This is what psychology says:
‘you are not your brain but you are your mind’.
Even though you are blessed with extremely high potentials, if your mind
doesn’t decide to explore them, you cannot reach anywhere.
Be optimistic and try to grab any
opportunity that comes to your way. Give
him a chance when luck comes.
‘Three questions’ is a famous short
story of Leo Tolstoy, which depicts the most important time in the life of a
person. A king who was curiously
investigating what is the best time to perform any endeavor.NOW is the most
important time. Yesterday is already
lost. We are never going to get it back.
So Yesterday is nothing but history. Tomorrow is to come, but there is no any
degree of assurance about it. We may or
may not get it. So ‘Tomorrow’ is being called
as a mystery. But NOW is the most
precious reality. It is there very much with
us. So‘Today’ is a gift. That is
why today is called the present.
Debabish Chattergy, the director of IIM and professor of Harvard
University is a globally renowned motivational Guru. His master piece book entitles as ‘The
other ninety nine percentage’.
According to him “if you are daring sometimes you may stumble and lose
your face but if you are not daring you are going to lose yourself.” We are required to be bold and challenging to
take up any task. High intention,
sincere effort and intelligent execution are integral factors of success. Inspiration is the foundation of excellence.
